Buying a domain name
Go to www.godaddy.com . you will see a screen like below.
In the green circle on the left is where you can enter in a domain name you want. Then press go and it will take you to a screen telling you if its available. The green circle on the right is My Account. Once you register, you can go to My Account and see all the domains you own. If this is your first purchase, you can register during the purchase process of the domain name. You usually have to go through a few page of ads when buying a domain but its worth it as the domains are under $10.
After you type in a name you will come to a page like this:
Here it tells you if available and other options of similar names to buy. Once you find one you like, put a check next to it and click Continue. Then you will go through the process of buying it. Once you buy it and you go to My Account, you'll see a page like this:
On the left is the list of domains you own. Once you click on one, the Domain Details will show up on the right. The green arrow points to your name servers. This is important and this is where you point the domain to a server. For example, if you host with us, the domain servers are ns1.empiresites.com and ns2.empiresites.com . They are different for every host and the host will tell you what to change it to.
