After you bought the website and downloaded the product, your next step is to unzip the file. If you can’t, go to www.winzip.com and download them software.

Once unzipped, save the files to your computer somewhere. Then open up the readme file. It will tell you what needs to be edited. Now you need to edit the site to include your email address and affiliate codes and so on. To do this, you can do it in one of a few ways:

1. Open up the first file in a text editor like Wordpad or notepad. Then go to the top and go to the Edit dropdown and go to Replace. Do an edit replace on each item that you need to change, per the readme file.  For a screenshot, go here.
2. Open up an html editor like Microsoft Frontpage and find what terms need to be replaced and then replace them. If you need an html editor, go here. 
3. Open up your Multi replace software. Once open, you need to open the files you want to change and then type in what you want changed and to what. This is a quick way to edit many files at once. To get this software, go here.  For a tutorial on this, go here.
4. Go to www.websiteturnkeys.com/replace.ftp.php This is an online Multi replace. Enter in your ftp info your host gave you after you uploaded your files to the server. Then put a check mark next to each item you want changed or check the box above them all for ALL of the files to be hilited. Then at the bottom type in what you want changed and to what. 

Any of those ways will work. The 3rd and 4th are the quickest but any will do.

Once you made your edits, the site is ready to be uploaded. Open up your ftp program. Download it here if you don’t have one. Once open, click on New and enter in your ftp(file transfer protocol) info that your host gives you. You will not have this info until your host sends it to you. Once you entered in your ftp info, it will connect you to your server. The left side will be your files, the right side is your server. Just hilite the files on the left and click the Right arrow button to move them to the server. If asked for ASCII or Binary when transferring, remember Binary is used for images, ASCII for everything else, but this software shouldn't ask for it.

Now once you uploaded your files, the site is up and running. But just having the site up doesn’t mean you will make money. You need to promote it.



There are hundreds of ways to do that. You can pay for promotion. Some good sites for that are Google Ad words, www.overture.com , www.kanoodle.com , www.7search.com and many more pay per click programs. You can also buy banner ads on other similar websites. I highly suggest not buying those packages that say they will give you 20,000 visitors for $30. You get what you pay for and there are a lot better ways to get traffic.  Buying links on www.adengage.com or www.adbrite.com are good ways.  Or go to www.empiresites.com/bonus to view some of our traffic tutorials and ebooks.  These will definitely help you get traffic.  And with traffic, comes income.



There are also many free ways to get traffic. They take your time, but they are free. Some are :

1. Post things in Forums that pertain to your site. Make sure you put a signature to your website.
2. Exchange links with other sites
3. Write articles on your topic and submit to article sites
4. Banner or text exchanges
5. Link Directories
